| Lais was mentioned a few times here but I think that this band deserves its own topic. I've recently bought their CD "Dorothea" and I really love it! Are there any other fans of Lais on this forum? |

| Sure. But I like their first CD (Lais) much more than Dorothea. |

| I've already ordered their first CD, so I hope I'm able to compare these two soon. |

| Hi folks, sure Laïs is mentioned earlier, because lots of Värttinä-fans will also like them, at lears I think so. Especially the close harmonies of the three female singers. Well if you want to be up-to-date, also order the CD released in 2003 "Douce Victime". Laïs has an own home-page : www.lais.be |

| I recommend 'Douce victime' too. You can hear Lais improve all the time through their albums. With every album they sound more professional.
Just for the record. Lais has made an EP with Ludo Vandeau (former singer of the Belgian band Ambrozijn, highly recommended too!): A la capella. As the title already says, it's just voices on this album. I personally don't think this is their best album, but hey, that is just my humble opinion....
I saw them this weekend again in Rotterdam. They keep amazing me! |

| Now I have the three albums, Lais, Dorothea and Douce victime, and I can't say which one I like the most. I think that each of them is different and beautiful. It's a pity that their concerts take place mostly in Belgium or the Netherlands. |

Ah my dear Kalmthout roses!
I was lucky enough to see them twice:
On their first tour in Spain, I had to ask for days off because the concert was far from home ).
Just because the world is so small, in that concert, but in different moments, also were on stage three Finnish singers we know well... and they sung in Galician

I agree with Sjoert, every Laïs CD is even better than the previous one, different, and of course every one of you will have your top list in mind, but is great that they have their own style (they are young and wise) and I think that "A la capella" is a must too.
I hope all of you will soon see them live, and... just thinking...it would be great they could do something with our favourite Finnish band. |

I really don´t like them such a big deal,
I always have difficulties liking bands who cover
Värttinä in a boring way. Although I have to say
I like some of their own songs. Maybe my opinion
changes when I see them live (usually it does) |

I remember that after Värttinä's concert in march 2004 in Utrecht (NL), some music was playing in the hall. It happened to be 'Dorothea' from Laïs and every visitor of the concert was singing along with it! I also have the first 2 albums in my collection. _________________ It's my minions versus thee...

I've just found out that Laïs are covering Käppee in a very unusual way. You may not like it, but I think it's really interesting to hear.

Very interesting version, I liked it.
That was more rock. Are they really singing themselves, it was so clear Finnish, if you can say clear about other noise around.
I have heard about them in here before, but never bought their albums.
Have they recorded Käppee and if , what album contains that?
Maybe I do some research myself too. |

No, they haven't recorded Käppee so far. The only Finnish song they have put on an album is Hedningarna's Tina vieri (on Dorothea). But I think they did more Värttinä and Hedningarna covers live.
Anyway, Laïs have recently released a great new CD. It's a lot different than their previous albums but I really recommend it. |
